Bexley and Bromley Advocacy (BBA)
DescriptionAdvocates support people to have a voice
BBA is an independent advocacy project. We work to the Code of Practice of the Advocacy Charter.
- Advocates get to know the person they are advocating for
- Advocates can help people find information
- An advocate can ask questions
- Advocates go to meetings and reviews to make sure people are listened to
BBA supports people to run their own self advocacy groups
BBA promotes and produces Easy Read information.

Is for people:
- with a learning difficulty or disability
- live in Bexley Borough
- are over 18 years old
- who travel on their own
- who don’t go to day services
- who don’t live in residential accommodation
Members meet to talk and learn about:
- self advocacy skills
- assertiveness
- relationships and friendships
- money, work and safety
- their health
- living independently
The group is growing and needs new members. To join the group

Advocate 4 Health
Working with people with a learning disability to:
- Increase access to health services and information
- Improve health
- Promote equality
- Reduce social isolation
- Develop a website
- Talk to health professionals about the issues people with a learning disability face
We work in the London Boroughs of Bexley, Bromley, Croydon, Greenwich, Sutton and Wandsworth.
