The Freedom Pass Service is the most comprehensive concessionary fares scheme in the country. It allows people living in Bexley, who qualify, concessionary travel in the Borough and beyond. People aged 60 and over, plus eligible disabled residents, to travel for free on the capital’s buses, trains, London Underground, trams, and the Docklands Light Railway, as well as local buses across the country.
If you are 60 years or older you should apply at a post ofiice, choosing from the details provided by the Post Office . People with disabilities under the age of 60 years will be required to be assessed by Inspire Community Trust to confirm eligibility for the issue of a Freedom Pass before attending a post office, when applying for a pass. However anybody over 60 years and with a disability may chosse to apply under either category.
Bexley Council with other London boroughs have paid for the Freedom Pass, and the scheme has been run on their behalf by London Councils for over 20 years.
