KAB offers specialist support with sight impairment issues for people with learning disabilities. Sight impairment is up to 10 times more likely among people with a learning disability than non-learning-disabled people, so regular eye health checks are very important. We can help with screening (to identify whether there might be a sight impairment problem); help with accessing community optometric services; help with wearing spectacles or contact lenses; provide advice and information on different eye conditions and provide support and training to professionals, carers and families of people with learning disabilities.
