Free services

London Borough of Bexley

Description

The Council provides a range of services to support people at home, including home care, respite care, equipment for daily living and day care. To check whether you are eligible for Council funded services phone Care Central on 01322 356363 or complete the Bexley self assessment form.

From April 2007 London Borough of Bexley's eligibility threshold for adult social care services is Substantial. This means that we will provide help to people with Critical or Substantial needs.

In practice, this means:

  • You will receive services if your assessed needs are within the Critical or Substantial bands;
  • You will receive a similar level of service to meet similar needs wherever you live in Bexley and whatever your age, abilities or cultural background.

People whose needs are assessed as either Moderate or Low, and are therefore below the threshold will not receive a social care service. In these cases we will give you advice and information about organisations that may be able to help or advise you. The Shop4bexley care portal has a range of services that you can purchase, and information about voluntary organisations, funded by the Council who can support people whose needs are moderate or low.
