Volunteer Centre Bexley acts as a brokerage service between organisations who need volunteers and residents in Bexley who wish to volunteer. People become volunteers for many reasons. They may want to gain new skills or experience, make new friends, contribute to their local community or an organisation that has helped them in the past or simply to feel less isolated and improve their confidence. Out of pocket expenses are usually reimbursed by organisations.
You can find out about volunteering in Bexley by either visiting the national website - www.do-it.org.uk - or by contacting the Volunteer Centre to book an appointment to visit our Drop In facility and speak to one of our of our signposting advisors. Sessions last about half an hour and are available from 10.00am - 12.00 noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays at our offices in Bexleyheath and 10.00am - 12.00 noon on Wednesday mornings at the Central Library in Bexleyheath. Residents with a mental health issue or a learning disability can use our Volunteer Support Project and receive additional aupport to undertake their volunteering please see the seperate entry on this website.
